We Are Home!

It took all weekend but we are back at home now! The team is organized again and back to their usual setup. We had our first sales meeting in our giant, new conference room today and the client was really impressed with the new layout and beautiful views. We are all proud of our new space, as it was a team effort to get it completed so quickly and we have our dedicated team to thank for that. We welcome all friends, neighbors, clients and vendors to stop on by, anytime, to see our finished product. Until then, thanks for reading!

Moving Back In

It's Friday and we are moving back into our newly remodeled office space. We are all so excited! All most all of the big furniture was moved back in today but not fully assembled. That means that we had two options for getting our work done for today : 1. Work at a make-shift desk in the new office space OR 2. Retreat to Barnes & Nobles across the street and work in one of their comfy chairs using their free wireless connection. Surprisingly, everyone chose to work from the new office at scrunched little file cabinet desks...they must all love the new space or something. More pictures to come of Monday, fully moved.

Granite Countertop

That's right, we splurged for an upgrade. While laminate is fine, we really wanted an awesome granite countertop with flecks of our ROCKET MEDIA green. We think this makes our super large hallway look extra snazzy!

Carpet Ride

The rainy weather lately, has had us on an up and down carpet ride! We were told by the installers that if the intense rain continued through Friday, then they would not be able to install the carpet this week as scheduled. This would mean pushing out our final walk through and move-in to the end of next week! Noooooo!!!

In order for the installation to take place, the contractors need to roll out the giant flat of carpet in the parking lot and cut it down to size so that they could fit it correctly in our space. With the rain, they wouldn't be able to do the roll out and cut without ruining the carpet.

We were very lucky today, that the rain paused for the entire day! Forecasts show that it should begin heavy rain again later tonight. Boy, did we luck out!! So now, WE HAVE CARPET! We are one step closer to being back in our space and enjoying all of the much needed updates.

Cabinet Installation

Today was the day they installed the new cabinetry. These cabinets will soon be filled with all kinds of supply items that had no specific place before the remodel. Depending on the rainy weather, tomorrow will either be carpet or countertop day... or both if we're lucky!

Painting Marathon

Friday => Paint!
Saturday => Paint!!
Sunday => Paint!!!

Yes, we are all very sore from our weekend of fun: painting the remodeled office before our Monday deadline. We rolled through 20 gallons of paint and will still be making touch ups as we move back into our space. Thanks to our dedicated staff, we had enough help throughout the weekend to complete two coats of paint on all of the walls. Coming up this week: carpet, cabinets and countertops... oh my! Stay tuned!

Power Painting

The crew is finishing up the electrical work today, and we are beginning to paint tomorrow. Ben and Dan picked up fifteen gallons of paint to prepare for some fun and messy work. Our office color scheme will be much the same as it was before, with green, dark gray, light gray, and white. We're looking forward to some vibrant color on those drab yellow walls!

Welcome to ROCKET MEDIA...Almost

On our stop by the office today, we found new trimmings around the doorways. A few of the doors had been hung and the crew happily told us that this portion of the work would be complete on Friday. The walls are ready for painting, and we can't wait to get in there and make our mark in ROCKET MEDIA green!

The Countdown Begins

Let the last week of building begin! The mess from demolition is disappearing and the electrical work is about done. Today the most apparent change was the addition of texture to the walls, which was still sticky upon our inspection at the end of the day. The crew is working hard to finish by Friday and we really appreciate their dedication.

Still Working Hard

It's a quiet day for the builders. They are finishing up the electrical work, setting up light fixtures and other small jobs that need to be done. In some rooms, we noticed that the ceiling is back in place. We can't wait to see what they will be up to next week as they finish our office.

Look out for Spackle!

Now that a good portion of the dry wall is done, the construction crew is busy spackling. The walls are beginning to look smooth and clear like we are used to seeing them. We were also impressed to see the workers spackling on stilts! There are still a lot of holes and projecting pipes, but it won't be long before the office seems like home again.

Privacy Please... We Have Walls - Almost!

Construction seems to have slowed a bit. I suppose when you watch demolition you see things happen so quickly and the change is so drastic. Now that we are in the "re-build" phase we don't necessarily notice all of the details that are going on. One thing we did notice today is that the sheetrock (drywall) is going up and we can now see walls taking shape. This huge open space we were just looking at is suddenly becoming sectioned off and things are not as big as we once thought. We also noticed that the electrical is nearing completion and our data cables are all being line out.

Today is the 5th and we are looking to regain our space on the 15th... We find ourselves scratching our heads wondering how this will all take shape in such a short amount of time. Yet we have faith in our trusty construction crew and are optimistic that all will work out great!
